No, Japan is a right hand drive country so pretty much all Japanese imports are right hand drive. All the S660 models we import are right hand drive.
The S660 was not offered in the UK. But don't let that put you off! It was well reviewed by Autocar and Top Gear. With it being right hand drive there is no reason it cannot be imported into the UK.
Japan is a temperate country. They don't use road salts on the roads like we do in the UK and therefore underside corrosion is often none to minimal.
The Japanese also tend to use public transport much more than us in the UK as it is much more reliable. This means most cars in Japan have a much lower mileage for the year than UK cars. This means much less wear and tear on all components.
They also tend to be far more obedient and thorough than us in the UK and for that reason Japanese cars tend to be serviced at all the correct intervals and maintenance standards kept high.
Many of the cars we import have history in Japan, either with Toyota themselves, or independent garages. Where possible we endeavour to get the service documents with the car, however this is not always possible. However you can rest assured that we will thoroughly inspect the car mechanically and that it will be serviced by us, with a new service book if it is missing.
Yes, Japanese S660 meet Japanese safety standards and carry compliance and spec numbers required to register in the UK. The Japanese MOT (Shaken) is far far stricter than a UK MOT. All S660s younger than 10 years old will also go through an IVA test to ensure they meet UK standards, including the addition of factory fog lights etc which are often not a requirement in Japan.
In order to apply for an IVA test the export certificate must contain the class and specification numbers. From these numbers for the DVSA can see the data online from MLIT to confirm a number of important questions. Without these numbers there is no cost effective way of importing the vehicle. However, once a vehicle reaches 10 years old an IVA is no longer required so importing a Mugen RA in 2026 becomes an option!
As there are no official emission certificates on imports (even with an IVA test) it is done solely on the month and year of the vehicle.
All the S660 models we offer meet Euro 6 standards.
